It's been a very long time coming (18 months since I bought the case!) but I finally have all the bits for my gaming build. I waited for a new 4790k CPU and have already put some of the bits in the case, will post some pictures up when I get home (motherboard is arriving today!). Best of all is that pretty much all of the bits were bought while on offer! :D

NZXT Phantom 410 Black
Corsair RM750 PSU
Corsair H60
Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400HMz (16GB)
Asus GTX760 OC DirectCUII
Intel 335 series 240GB SSD
Intel 4790k

and...

Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7!

Been stuck on a laptop for 2 years now so really looking forward to having my very first custom desktop. Theme will be red and black this time, planning to rebuild into a yellow and black themed build next year complete with custom loop. :)

Stay tuned for pics!!!

3 and a half hours later, she's finished. :D I managed to dig out some old photos of the work I'd done before so this may be a tad pic heavy, but here goes:

I'd had the case for a whole year, but just after Christmas I was able to afford a bit more of the build I had planned:

It wasn't long before she was stripped down:

The PSU and all the fans going in (only had the front ones at the time!):

140mm fans at the top...

And the cooler:

By now she was very flashy indeed. ;)

One last fan to put the cooler into push-pull, and off with the window sticker:

And she stayed like that for 6 months. Until today!

How she was:

And thanks to Overclockers and DPD...

First thing's first, get the workspace ready! ;)

Quickly set the monitor up:

Time to unbox the Motherboard, very impressed with the look:

And a quick build outside the case to check all is working as expected...

So THIS is what all the fuss is about?

All looks good, so the H60 came out and the motherboard went in:

H60 back in place...

Quick check that everything still works:

SSD fixed and ready:

All still good, so out with the dust covers:

And in with the GTX760!

And a final switch on:

And she takes her rightful place!

Still trying to get a hang of Windows 8.1 but other than that it was fairly simple, my cable management has gotten a LOT better than the first couple of builds I did. :)

First impressions of the CPU are good, but runs fairly hot with the fans on lowest setting, bumped up They seem ok though. Going to go to bed shortly but will look at overclocking etc on Sunday. :D
