Hi all,
I am about to build a PC with a 4790K CPU on a Micro ATX motherboard. I have already chosen all the components but the CPU cooler.
My question is- what difference does it make if I choose a cooler that blows air from bottom to top (top- flow like Noctua NH-C14) vs cooler that blows air sideways (like Noctua NH-U12S). Does one provide better airflow than the other just because of the air flow direction?
The NH-C14 is only 130mm whereas the NH-U12S is 158 mm.
I will probably overclock the CPU but ever so slightly, nothing severe.
I don't want to go with the bigger Noctua since the PC dims have to be kept at minimum (hence the Micro ATX motherboard).
Cheers.
