Hi,
I moved house today, so my pc was in the car for 3hrs, and carried around a bit.
Up to this point my pc hasn't been switched on for 1 month as it was stuck at my old house.
It used to get 1064 on xtu benchmark at stock with a max temp of 66deg.
Now I'm getting a max temp of 74deg and only 1060 marks in the bench.
Im using hyper 212 evo.
Do you think the cooler has moved or the paste has dried out?
What could be causing this issue?
Idle temps have also risen from 27deg to 31deg.
Runs mid 50s in games.
Also my processor seems to be running at max clock at boot, like 4.4 ghz. It then slowly calms down to 800mhz. I sweat it never did that before, is it normal? I swear before it ran at 800mhz from boot.

Thanks for the help!

i would reseat the cooler. there is a good chance you broke the tim contact and you need fresh tim.

also could it just been in a warmer place in the new house?

Don't forget that ambient temperatures will be higher this time of year compared to a month ago too.

My house is sitting at 24c at the moment, compared to 16-17c a month ago

I'm going to reseat the cooler, but i think everyone who mentioned temperature change over the last month could very well be correct and its a great point i didnt see. When i last booted my pc in my old house, it was pretty cold out and i had single glaze windows and no central heating. Where i am now has double glazing and central heating and there has been a good jump in temperature outdoors. Seems were seeing the start of the nice weather.
I already plan on ordering a x61 kraken this week, so might just leave the cooler till that arrives.

the weather has got warmer, in summer you can normally add +10c to most rigs and it has probably gathered some dust try blowing the dust out

those inflatable bed pumps work wonders I use a cheap argos one and it works a treat

yeah thats what always makes me worry when i see people setting up systems to their limits in winter, i wonder if they remember to tune it down a bit for summer.
