Hi my mates about the buy a 24" 1920x1200 monitor, and wants to get a 4850 for it. I suggested the higher memory model would be better at those resolutions but I can't seem to find a benchmark to prove it. Do any of you guys know of a benchie or from experience, if a gig of memory would make a big difference?

Hi Gremmers, the difference between an ATI 4850 512mb and a 1024 version would be extremely small. Have a look here for a review of the Radeon HD 4850 2 GB GDDR3 version.

At a resolution of 1920x1200, your friend would be far better of purchasing a ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB, for example, this one here. :)

Agreed, its pointless having more than 512mb on a 256bit bus.:)
