Hi,

Im having really annoying problems with my ati cards and ATI drivers in general and am looking into getting an nvidia alternative.

My question for 1680x1050: Would the 260 216cores be comparable to 2 4850 in crossfire?

thx

A 4850X2 is slightly faster than a GeForce GTX280, but then the drivers are better, so I'd probably be looking at a single 260-216 or 280....or maybe wait for the GTX 285 to come out.

id get the GTX260-216 as they are almost as fast (or abit faster) as the gtx280 when overclocked. and for the price compared to a 280, you cant go wrong.

as said above, the gtx285's are out soon so could be worth waiting, although personally id buy now as they will probably be overpriced with little performance gain as usual.

XFX GTX 260 Black Edition gets my vote, as you don't need Xfire/Sli at that res when single cards can cut through it with ease.

No point waiting for the 285, as you can overclock a 280 with Rivatuner yourself, its pointless paying Nvidia to do it.
