I have two powercolor 4850 that I thought were running in crossfire. I had only connected one of the crossfire jumpers, which seemed to work ok, however when looking of the reviews I noticed photos showing two crossfire jumpers. I assume that they have it right adn I have it wrong, however what are the likely implications of running with just the one jumper, and why would the drive software have not shown a 'warning'. Any ideas?

There are few graphical problems with using two bridges with 2x CF. For example, there's the "flashbang glitch" in CoD4 that occurs when two bridges are used.

Just use one, it should be fine.

I'll obviously try the second bridge, but I had also assumed that it was for adding a third and forth card and so on. I was surprised that there wasn't an instructional diagram, and from all of your responses it would appear that it is not clear exactly how it should be connected.

thanks for all the advice, I'll try it and get back to you.

As far as I know you always use both bridges for 2 cards and use 3 for 3 cards.

Like so:
- - || Two Cards

- -| Three Cards

If you have 2, theres no harm in using 2. 1 will do the job upto a high resolution than 1920x and CCC should warn you and say the second lead will need connecting. Similar reason for needed a Dual link dvi cable after 1920x I guess.
