4850 equivalent replacement?

Hi all.

I gave my old pc to my father in law and then the gpu died a day after

I am not sure what would be a good replacement for a 4850 now days?

Did he try overclocking it?

I think an R7 250 is around the same performance level.

I am sure what happened he went to turn it on and no video
Tested it in my pc same thing so it's dead for sure lol.

Also got to be careful as the psu not the best but was fine for the 4850.
I don't want to push any higher then that I think.

The R7 250 is a newer more energy efficient card with max draw of 65w vs the older 4850 at 110w. You could even go for something a bit more powerful if wattage was your only concern...

As above the 250 is similar in performance, but make sure to get the GDDR5 version not the DDR3 version (even though it only has 1 GB of memory).
