4850 installation query (drivers)

I will be installing my card later today, I know that drivers newer than the ones that come with the card are already available.

Should I use the installation CD to install my card and then update my drivers or just download the newest drivers from ATI straight away and not use the CD at all please?

Just use the hotfix drivers straight away. They are standalone drivers anyway.

If it's an Asus card you might want to install the SmartDoctor application from the Asus CD.
Currently its the only working app that can change the stock fan speeds so the card isn't idling at 70 deg.
