HI All

I have a Abit Fatal1ty AN8 socket 939 motherboard

and I was wondering if I could drop one of the new ATI 4850 graphics boards in this board

because i know the new cards are PCI 2.0 but I am not sure what my boards pci slot is??
anybody know ??

many thanks

Michael

Should be fine.

My 4870 worked in my old Asus Commando which has pci-e v1.0a slots.

He is saying that his 48xx series card worked in a PCIEx16 v1.0a slot and so should be fine in your older PCIEx16 slot also.
Thats because the ATI 4850/4870 cards whilst being PCIEx16 2.0 were made backwards compatible.

When i installed one of my 4850's into a old PCIE-1 x16 board the other week for a test, it would run fine on desktop but pc would freeze completely within ~ 5 mins of 3d applications.

Just a heads up.
