Have that before - after overclocking - cleaned all drivers and swiched of... for 3 hrs - still working after that - was overheated.

i've just spoke to the shop where i got the card from they are aiming towards my psu not being powerful enough , i have a tagan modular 480w , would this be good enough to run my system , i had an nvidia 8800gts 640mb before this card and had no problems ?

********, I say. That should be plenty for that card.

I have an overclocked Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz, with 4 Gigs of Ram + 2 HD + an overclocked G92 8800GTS + all the usual gubbins with that PSU and it has never missed a beat.

Tell them the memory is faulty (as those pics are indicative of failing memory).

Then politely point them to ATi/AMD where the specifications are listed:

ATi.com said:
ATI Radeon™ HD 4850 System Requirements

* PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard
* 450 Watt or greater power supply with 75 Watt 6-pin PCI Express® power connector recommended (550 Watt and two 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)
* Certified power supplies are recommended. Refer to http://ati.amd.com/certifiedPSU for a list of Certified products
* Minimum 1GB of system memory
* Installation software requires CD-ROM drive
* DVD playback requires DVD drive
* Blu-ray™ playback requires Blu-ray drive
* For a complete ATI CrossFireX™ system, a second ATI Radeon™ HD 4850 graphics card, an ATI CrossFireX Ready motherboard and one ATI CrossFireX Bridge Interconnect cable per graphics card (included) are required
.

They are trying to fob you off to get you to buy a new PSU off them. Tell them you want a new graphics card and don't let them make it look like it's your fault.

Unlucky on the dead 4850 on a lighter note i have that same monitor and same speakers..........
