4850 OC thread What ya got?

i couldnt agree more i would not be going near any of my hardware without doing so and im planning on reading fully up on it first so im 100% sure what im going to do.

i ordered a 2nd 4850 today so xfire is on its way to me too

yeah. I bought a cheap peaktech one and it works great. Also has a temperature probe and continuity tester.

*cries*

Both my 4850s seem to struggle over 700.

They're on modded bioses at the moment, wonder if that's part of the issue? Anyone care to point me in the direction of a nice 4850 bios? I'm pretty sure it's a bios issue actually. I could swear that I used to have them at 720 core and they were fine. :o

If a new bios works, I'll attempt a pencil volt mod on them too. I've got accelero S1s fitted on them at the moment, and the temps are pretty good on them.

I could upload my Sapphire bios with an Asus signature file for you if you want.
It has stock clocks, an upper limit in overdrive of 800/1300 and vcore of 1.04 idle 1.158 load.

Yup, Palit Sonic edition. Nice card :) Sapphire, on the other hand, is not.

Palit hit 760/1200 on nothing. I just put it in slot, boot, tried the sliders, and worked without even changing the volt.

I vouch for that. I have one Sapphire and one Palit Sonic.

Palit hit 760/1200 on STOCK. Lol. My Sapphire OTH, would not go over 730/1130 with max BIOS volt (1.2v?) at all. Even at 731 it crashes, and I find it weird. Its absolute max is 730.
