Hey all,
I FINALLY got round to ocing my asus eah 4850
I am letting ati overdrives auto tune do its thing as we speak, however it is leaving the core clock at 790mhz!
To me this seems very high, could someone give me some extra input please?
Btw: Temps are around 70 after 3 hours of full load at normal clocks.
And if i left it at 790mhz would it decrease the life of the card?
Note: no voltage changes have been made.

Cheers

Okies,
Well i just finished it myself using the test custom clocks feature and am at 790/1145.
I can test custom clocks ok but am about to run OCCT for a while along with prime 95 to test my pcs overall stability.
Soon i will have another 4850 on the way aswell :D
Can i use different clocks on each card or does it have to be the sameclock on each card?
Cheers

My knowledge of xfire setups is hardly vast, although I believe that the cards will run at the speed of the slowest in the setup.

So depending on which one is clocked lower, you can expect performance of that card in each.

It would probably be wise to drop the o/c a little if you xfire as they naturally get toasty due to being sandwiched on top of each other. Something to think about it least, you may have decent cooling.

Either way, a couple of mhz on core and mem difference in your o/c won't radically change your performance. They are both still the same card at heart!

im running crossfire 4850's and yer they do have to be clocked the same or the fast one will be the same as the slower card. As far as my setup goes one would clock really high and the other didnt so i had to settle on a slightly lower overclock =(. And dont worry about temps too much 4850s are hot cards the top card of my setup gets to about 90 under furmark and 70 in games but they do run hot!

i had another little go last night but noticed black lines appearing more often then not, so i started lowering but gave up in the end and reverted to stock clocks.
Ill just do it when my xfire card arrives :D.
