4850 or 4870

Hi all.

I am looking at maybe buying a Titan Nero:

and potentially requesting the 4870 over the 4850 (or is there another card in or around this price range I should consider...)

Is there much difference between these two cards?

I would go for a 4870 (has significantly more 'kick') and only about £20 more

What size monitor you going to be gaming on.But for a bit extra you may as well get the 4870.A bit more kick for any future upgrades new monitor etc.

Cheers. Just a 17" atm but will be getting a 2nd larger screen next month

Quick scout round seems GDDR5 is the biggest difference between the 2 cards

I sent OcUK a webnote lastnight asking how much it would be to have a 4870 1028Mb to replace the 4850 512Mb. I got a very speedy reply this morning stating it's £29.99.
