Hi all

I recently upgraded my CPU from an E7200@3GHz to a Q9550@3GHz. There was an increase in performance, but not as much as I had expected :( so it was a bit disappointing.

Anyway, because I didn't get the jump in performance I expected, I figure the next thing I need is a better GPU. The 4850 has been great, but something tells me it's now the weak link in games like Far Cry 2 and Crysis.

What would you guys suggest I upgrade to? I'd like to spend max about £150 (the new CPU was £150... need to watch my budget!). The 5770 seems to be in about the right price range.

EDIT: i'm gaming at 1440x900, btw.

I'm also looking to upgrade from a 4850pro (in fact I haven't bought a graphics card since an X1950pro and got the 4850 as a warranty replacement) although my current resolution is 1680x1050 and I plan to upgrade to a 24" monitor so I'm waiting to see what the AMD 6800 series of cards offer.

However as others have already pointed out the Nvidia 460 768mb card would appear to offer the best performance/price ratio particularly at the resolution you are gaming at.
