4850 woes

just got my gainward one and cod4 online looking at 2 walls and a floor, just me, and maxed out 4xaa 16xaf 1920x1200 getiing just 20 fps

3.3ghz E2140 on vista 64 (fresh install) 4gb (2x2GB) 555 15 2.2v geil black dragon

and a be quiet! dark power 650w psu

worked fine with my hd2900gt where i was getting around 15 fps (to be expected), so only 5fps added on?

tried 8.6, 8.6 hotfix, 8.7 beta, 8.7s, 8.8beta and 8.6 ad 8.7 dna drivers

yeah there crap m8 i had one and got rid as with a decent res they suck.. the bandwith just isnt there or summot

A decent resolution?. You bought a 4850 for 2560x1600?

Its a bug in the game few others have had this recently trying doing a search on here. COD4 shines on the 4850 you should be getting around 85FPS on mine I get up to 90FPS @ 1920x1200 with max gfx. Its easily fixable just cannot remember what though.

Try:

1: Reinstall Direct X from the COD4 DVD and also get the lates from MS.

2: If that does not work try removing COD4 rebooting and reinstalling as seem to remember something silly causes this bug on certain systems.

Definately no need to RMA your card!!

atm, all drivers im installing end up with INF not found

i never had any problems with my hd 2900GT

maybe i should send it back, and buy a 9800GTX

my x1900xt gives me stuttering and slowmo in some places on GRID but thats because i have the 256mb version of the x1900xt. GRID seems to hit the vram limit real hard.

lol, yes, everything to the max it can be, eg either on/ultra/high, and 8xMSAA about 15fps at 1920x1200

so do u not have drivers installed ?
