What's a good temp for a 4870 1gb as I am thinking of Oc'ing mine and I would prefer to know when to stop judging by temps. I have recorded my temps while playing Crysis+ Crysis Wars on high with x8 AA at 1280x1024 resolution. In GPU-Z My max GPU Temperature [°C] I think was 56°C. Also, what temprature readings should I be looking out for, because in the GPU-Z log there are other readings like GPU Temp.(DISPIO) [°C] , GPU Temp.(MEMIO) [°C] and GPU Temp.(SHADERCORE) [°C]

I'm having a fiddle around with ATi overdrive right now, anyone know any decent settings?

My rig:

E7400@stock
2gb GeiL
Corsair VX450W
Powercolor 4870 1gb
Thanks

the HD4870 has been tested to over 100c by AMD

but i don't like to see it past 90c tbh which mine never do :D

Ok, I got It set to 780 MHz Core, and 995 MHz Memory, ATi Overdrive said It was fine then I did a stress test using FurMark and nothing happened (which Is good right?)

One question though, In ATi Overdrive, I have set my Core clock to 780 MHz, and It said that It was all ok and that It had done the Overclock, but In the 'Current Values' box below, It says 500 MHz, which Is less than the actual stock clock, why Is this? Does it rise when you do more demanding things like gaming?

Thanks again.

powersave mode

get GPUZ and it would state the same, play a game like L4D than you will see your OC applied

idle or underload

idle normal 40-45

underload anything upto 100c

mines run at 100c for a yr now :D so its well within limits (125c)
