4870 1gb help

Hey i recently purchased a HIS 4870 1gb . On idle the card is running at 70c is this normal because it seems to be very hot.

Also on age of conan i get issues with artifacts on the screen sometimes. I will upload some aritfacts later. i upgraded drivers to 9.2 this seem'd to reduce how often it occured but its still there.

up your fan speed in catalyst u probably running default 5% put it to 25~30% fan speed

it was a 20%. up'd it to 30% now running 59c idle. Do the 4870's just run hot normally?

I've got a Sapphire HD4870 1GB and on default fan settings it runs happily on idle at about 45degrees. Not sure why yours is running so high, unless you've overclocked it? My settings are the GPU clock at 840mhz and the mem clock at 1000mhz.
