So was just about to order the 4870 1GB power cooler but stopped myself. With the code it brings it to a nice £190 but only has 1 year warranty. The sapphire one from else where can be had at 30 pound more. Do you think its worth £30 for an extra year warranty?

Also anyone had problems with the powercooler?

I have Asus P5E x38 board and 1920x1200 res.

Thnx, SoGi

The 512mb ones are worthless with the 1gb's only a couple of quid more.

1 year warranty shoud be fine, unless you know your going to keep it that long, as most people upgrade every few months when the newer faster cards appear.

Do a search for powercolour, lots of bad reports of poor aftersales. I bought Sapphire instead for £180 after sending the Asus with the new cooler back because the fan was stuck at 50%

Hmm well at the moment im using a 8800 GTS 640mb had that since they came out pretty much. So I don't upgrade often just wanna now as I got the P5E the other day upgraded from P5B deluxe.

I got mine on Monday, What a great card you should be very happy.

I think with any product we buy its a lottery if it stays good or goes faulty, but i would suggest not to go too made on overclocking.

What I hate about these forums or any other, is there is always a better card around the corner, I just want to enjoy what i have right now.

Chances are; if its going to cr** out on you, it will do so within the first couple of weeks.

If you keep the card cool and don't abuse it, it should stand you in good stead for a good while after that. A one year warranty is ample for a graphics board I say!!

I can't see how you'd want to get anything else regardless of the warranty at the price the Powercolor 1Gb card is. I should be getting mine on Monday and at a later date will add another to run in Crossfire. I'm like a kid a few days before Christmas lol :D Along with a Q9550 overclocked to around 3.2Ghz and 8Gb of RAM I can't see myself having any problems running anything for a while. Am also getting an Antec 1200 case and a Noctua CPU cooler so I can't see myself having any sort of temperature problems hopefully!

i was thinking exactly the same thing this very morning, even have the same card arriving too, and even on monday as it so happens! :D

When installing the card what is the best way to go about uninstalling my old nVidia drivers(i know how to uninstall the drivers)? for the ati ones? Should i just go the normal route by using driver cleaner etc and then install the ati ones or not? And if not I guess its a format? :(
