Hi, i woke up this morning and turned my computer on to be greeted with what sounded like a grinding noise. I immediately turned it off and took the case side off to see if i could find the source. So when i turned it back on i thought it might have been the gfx card and there was some vibration coming from it. I think it must be the cooler fan. It has stoped doing it when in windows but i dont like the idea i could turn on my comp and the gfx card wont be working! Anyone else had probs with the coolers? Any suggestions of what to do?

1. RMA it.
2. Swap out cooler for after-market unit and invalidate warranty.
3. Hope for the best!

never rma'd befored. whats the proccess? And how long does it take? as i dont have a spare card whilst its away.

Just send a webnote requesting an RMA, then when you get the details send the card back, only takes about 7-10 days to get your replacement, could be a bit less, just depends on how busy they are.

Roughly a week. Jump on a famous auction site and get something like a geforce 6200 that can be add for less than a tenner on such auction sites. nice backup card, wont run games but its always good to have a backup card anyway.

That's a good idea, no harm in having a backup card
