Ok the 5850/5870 pricepoints have been released for public consumption and as tempting as they are they are still rather pricey! So the question now is when would we likely expect to see a shift in the pricing of the 4870 and 4890s?

Any soothsayers around or even better those that know?

Let me put it like this. Im soooooooo glad I bought my 4870 Crossfire setup now I've seen the release prices :)

(I only paid £130 for a pair of £512MB cards).

Different price points as you mentioned so doubt it.

They may drop £10 or so becuase there not the 5xxx Series but doubt prices will shift much till stock levels are good. Also rumors of the 5700's/5600 coming late october hiting those price points should bring it down.

I think the only way ATI will lower the 4800's cards atm is in reaction to Nvidia moving all there prices down to make the 285/295 more competitive.

I'm sure there will be people here with a lot better idea than me thou.
