I have just had a viewsonic 2650 LCD in exchange for a viewsonic 2130b,which went wrong, but still in garuntee.
My question is,as this resolution is 1920x1200,and i have a sapphire 4870 512mb,will this affect me when playing games?

I have tried it playing WOV,and i dont see any problem, but what do i have to look out for if the 4870 512mb doesnt handle the resolution properly?
Will i get artifacts on the screen?

If it doesnt handle it,i will have to go for the 4870 1gb mem,and sell this 4870 512mb.
Pity really,as i put on a S1 rev2 with 120 fan,and the temp only goes into the 30s% on load, also the vvdcs temps are in the 50s% on load.
Only had it a few months.
Thanks.

No artifacts, even if the frame buffer exceeds 512mb (it will just slow down) there is one game (GTA IV) that does this atm. But at 1920x1200 you should not hit it.

Thanks for the info, thats quite reassuring,as it means i wont have to buy the 4870 1gb,as i dont see the game WOV slowing down.
On some posts i have read on here, they said that it needs the 1GB mem card if you are using 1920x 1200 res.
Thanks.

I play games on a 26" monitor using 1920x1200 with a 4830 512MB card and it handles things fine. Granted that I don't use AA/AF much but it is very capable with the right settings. Your 4870 should be no problem. The 1GB memory generally helps more if you use high AA/AF settings at high resolutions.
