Hi guys,

Can anyone give me a heads up as to what an HIS 4870 512 would cost these days? NOt more than £50 surely?

The reason i ask is because a friend of mine is going to be buying one - the IceQ3 version from HIS - its £55 with P+P on top.

Seems pretty reasonable to me.

thoughts?

Sounds about right, cant imagine they'll be worth much more considering they're coming up to 2 generations old. Still works for me though :)

There running at £70 + on ebay ive been keeping an eye out for cheap one to tryout crossfire until the 6 series comes out( overclockers have refurbs for £80).
its still a cracking card that i use to play Bfbc2 on at mostly high settings.

Wheres he getting the £55 one from.

Just want to clarify...it's £55 for a used 4870 512MB you mean?

Pretty sure the £70 mark is for the 1GB version, where as the 512MB version will worth less.

Have been watching the bay on and off for the last 2 months and cheapest used 512mb 4870 i've seen went for £69 + p&p on auction.

You can get one around 50-60quid on this forum, that's for 1gb. 512s are around 40quid 2nd hand nowadays.

Never buy new, not worth it.

well i bought my 512 version of MM (this forum) for £60 a couple of months now and are going for £50 for the 512 and £60 for the 1gb as they are still very capable cards

I've only just upgraded from a 4870 512 to a 5850, the 4870 has been awesome AND I run at 2048x res! Mine is on the bay, last few I looked at went for £60-70 + postage.
