Hi, I currently have a 19" 1440x900 screen, but am thinking of upgrading to a 24" 1920x1080 screen. I was wondering how well a ATi 4870 1GB with a overclock will perform (@810/1020). Or should i just upgrade to something like a 5870?

It will work fine i was using just one 4870 512mb with my 24" @ 1920 x 1200 and didnt see any worse performance. I doubt you will have anything to worry about.
