4870 Broke?

Hey guys,
i seem to be getting artefacts when running furmark and occasionally just in windows. This only just started recently and the card is less than a month old. I've never RMA'd anything before, but I take it is a case of contacting sapphire mailing it out to them etc.?
Anything I should know apart from this?

No, It's broke. It is a pain in the *rse to get it replaced, but you have to follow steps 1, 2 &3....

RMA it to these guys if its less than a month old (thats assuming you bought it from these), should only take around 7-10 days to sort then.

I have RMA'd to OCUK couple of time!

You've got your card OC'd, thats more than likely the cause, knock it down to stock speeds and see if you still get the artifacting (750/900)

^ That's true. I found when I oc'd my 4870 1Gb card, when I upped the core, the memory refused to go any higher! (OC on my GPU in my sig needs updating). The auto-detect said it could... but when I ran games / furmark I had artifacts.

Try leaving your core the same and knock the memory down.

that memory is clocked way to high if you dont have sufficient cooling on the memory, down clock the memory and i bet it will go away !

hey guys, thanks for the feedback.
The card is kept pretty cool, new heatsink and my antec 1200 (card will idle 46 degrees, 58 under load)
I have since lowered the clock and it seems to work slightly better.
However I ran Furmark and I get a total of 4900 points. Does this not seem slightly low to you?
