Just recently switched to 1gb 4870 crossfire & I'm trying to gauge just how much my P55 board is affecting performance, as the slots run x16 / x4.
I've a feeling it's around 15 percent, but some 'real world' comparisons would be good if anyone can be bothered.
System specs - i5 760@4ghz / 4gb ram / Win 7 x64/ modded Cat 10.11's
Resolution - 1680x1050 - all in-game settings at their highest level
Batman GOTY Edition 4xaa/16xaf - Min 80 / Max 239 / Avg 168
Crysis Warhead Ambush (using FB Warhead Benchmark) Dx10 4xaa/16xaf - Min 25 / Max 48 / Avg 38
Mafia 2 full game PhysX off aa on/16xaf - Avg 47.3
Resi 5 Variable benchmark 4xaa/16xaf - Area 1 152 / Area 2 123 / Area 3 90 / Area 4 114 / Avg 116.9
Unigine Heven 2.1 Dx10 4xaa/16xaf - 1416 / Min 29 / Max 105 / Avg 56
Would have used Dirt 2 as well but I get close to half the fps in crossfire when compared to a single card, so somethings broken somewhere with it...
If anyone owns a gfx setup around 5850 / 460 performance levels could post a comparison on any of the benches, it would be appreciated
