Right guys, whats the deal here?

I have a Mac Pro with a 4870 and a mini-DP, am I able to use a 10-bit panel at 10-bit or am I stuck at 8-bit?

Looking to get the Hazro HZ27WA or Dell UltraSharp U2711

Going to be used for photo work, so colour representation is key!

Cheers

Conflicting reports on this, apparently its there in the spec but a lot people claim that its not actually implemented.

Good point I keep forgetting that, yeah the Hazros don't have DP connectivity and achieve 10bit color via FRC so you get the advantage of smoother gradients even with an 8bit input.

I forgot about that too :/

So essentially it's like this:

Best to worst:
1. True 10-bit via DP.
2. Fake 10-bit via DVI/HDMI and FRC.
3. True 8-bit.

Edit: Dell isn't true 10-bit either, pfft.

Guess I'll be having a Hazro then!
