4870 - Just bought, should I keep?

Hoping for just more FPS across the board really - yeah it was a bit of an impulse buy at that price though, it definitely has smoothed Crysis out much better, just about to test it on the section that crippled my 8800GT - defending Prophet from the flying alien machines. Will do that tonight. Not worth having it just to make Crysis a bit better though, its not *THAT* good a game.

Other than that, suppose it was just the thought of "new Gfx card, old one is now 18 months old"

I've mentioned to a few people on here that at the rez I play at, either 1280x1024 or mainly 1600x1200, the OC'd 8800GT I have still runs games really well with all the eye-candy (insert Crysis caveat here).

It's that good almost 2 years on, I still feel no great desire to upgrade until the DX11 cards are out, at which time if Win7 is out, I'll get one in conjunction with the new OS. And a new 24" monitor no doubt!

I still know why you bought one though!

I still run an 8800GT at 1920x1080, Crysis and GTA4 are the only games it really struggles with.

Get a good 80plus psu and you will probs find that ur power draw goes down mind did!

The case he has comes with a seasonic psu which is about 81-82 per cent efficient iirc.
