My core clock keeps dropping to 500Mhz, even if i set it in CCC or Rivatuner?

any ideas?

never happened before i loaded vista64 rivatuner used to keep the clocks at what i had set them, i have also updated to the hotfix for FC2?

That is the throttled down speed. Run something like ATI tool at the same time and you will see the actual clock speeds.

2D clock settings are in place so when you are not running anything graphically demanding, the clock speeds drop thus decreasing the power required and heat produced. They automatically step up to the 3D clock settings when you open an application that requires the full clock speeds.

ok im a knob just never noticed it before in Rivatuner, it always showed my OC settings not 500Mhz
