yes plug two 6 pin connectors in a card and insert the card in first pci_e slot.

delete old drivers then use (driver clean pro) to make sure u cleaned everything then install drivers for 4870 and of you go
 
Yes you should have two 6-pin PCI-E connectors - make sure to plug both in to your 4870..edit: beaten to it by psychas!
