i recently RMA'd one of my old 4870's to Gigabyte, i recieved an email today saying that the unit is unfixable and would i accept a 5750 as a suitable replacement. notably the 5750 is not as powerful as a 4870 but it does have DX11, would that be an acceptable replacement in in the grand scheme of things?

Comparing the 4870 against the 5750 - the former is much quicker than the latter.

Win a few lose a few when comparing the 4870 to the 5770.

I would try to persuade them that a 5770 is a fairer exchange - the 5750 is a little underpowered.

looking at that first link i would say yeah it looks fair. after making this thread however i decided to just order another 6950 and hoy whatever i get back from gigabyte in my server (not needed i know). If i ever decide to use the 5750 in the future i will probably overclock it a tad (a lot) anyway.

Ive just sent them an email accepting it so ill see how it goes, thanks a lot
