4870/ sound blaster x-fi problem (Immidiate help needed if possible)
Hi im wondering if anyone can help me out.
I currently bought a ati 4870 gpu, And because of the power consumption i also bought an oryxx titan 800w psu. My problem is though that my computer cannot seem to recognise my sound card. So i have no sound. i may have moved the pci slot it was in but when i try to get it t detect hardware changes nothing happens. i have installed and reinstalled many times to no avail.
My spec is
Amd 4200+
5gb ddr2
gigabyte mb
I think its the fatal1ty sound card but cant remember but it does have the front panel which also requires power.
1 sata hdd
2 ide hdd
cd writer
dvd writer
asetek water chill water cooling.
I was thinking it may be a power problem but not sure exactly how much im using. Also when installing my new gpu i plugged in the 2 power plugs into the card plus a third one into the mb, Ie the one that usually powers your pcie port. So do i still need the 2 power plugs, plugged directly into the gpu or do i only need the one plugged in.
Sorry for the bad grammer and spelling etc. But any help on this would be much appreciated.
