4870 stuttering in WoW

Have you tried some different revision drivers. I get better results with the 8.6 version. Also I'd be interested to hear if you have AA enabled? If so, try running again with it disabled and see if the stuttering goes away. Also, try increasing your fanspeed manually and fireup the game, I don't know if it's the temperature causing issues.

I have 4850 CF and was getting jerky stuttering problems which I first thought were the cards but it was actually because I was using my Asus Xonar DX for hardware sound in the sound options, resetting it to defaults and not using the hardware sound fixed it.

This could be something you could look into if you have this card, or even if you have a X-Fi althought im not sure if the X-Fi would give the same problems.
 
already scrubbed the nvidia drivers before putting it in. i have a x-fi soundcard but that wasnt a problem with the 8800gts. i think its catalyst CC related, had this problem a long time ago with my x1800xt
