Which of the 4870 cards is the coolest running at idle/load, I need a decent card for a SFF machine and I'm concerned by the heat these produce.

TIA

Well most have reference coolers which can all be adjusted manually. Otherwise you need one that comes with a different cooler. But to be honest if you do not plan to overclock, then any reference cooler can cool sufficiently. For example my 4870 Sapphire, I set the fan speed to 37% and I get 43C idle and about 60C load. But on default these cards run at 80C+ usually as far as i know.

Also you can get any card and stick a third party cooler on it and that will be the best for keeping it the coolest and keeping noise level down.

The new 8.10 driver which are in beta allow you to control the fan :)

I use upto 1920 x 1200 at the moment, was thinking of a Nvidia GTX 260 as they seem quite a bit cooler than the 4870s.
