Hi,

I just had a question regarding the 4870's. Specifically ive got a powercolor 1gb 4870.

Mine is currently idling at around 70 degrees C, its then going up to around 80 degrees C under load. When under load the fan is going at about 20-25% , activity is about 85%.

Is this normal ?

Is the Powercolor 4870 1024mb graphics card that you have, does it have the standard cooler like you see on this XFX ATI Radeon 4870 1024MB here? If so, then that's perfectly fine. I also have the standard Powercolor 4870 1024mb graphics card and my temperatures are very similar to yours at around 20 - 25% fan speed. You can always go into the Catalyst control centre, then navigate down to the "ATI Overdrive" section and manually set your fan speed.
