Im getting my brand new asus 4870 x2 tri fan next week. My monitor is a 24" 1920x1080. Seen as the 4870 1gb is cheap now would adding another make a whole lot of difference to harder to run games with 8AA?

tri-fire should make a descent difference up from crossfire. especially at that resolution pushing hard with 8xAA. tri is usually even better than quad shown in a lot of benchies

I was thinking about it but theres that though in my head what is the point when i could just build a DX 11 set up in the near future. Then again DX11 games might not happen anytime soon and there may not be many either.

I, too, have toyed with this idea. Was under the impression that it might not be worth it since I already get more than satisfactory fps. Would I notice much difference overall?... - probably inconsistent results at best.

I have looked at a number of reviews which showed gains of 22% and higher. Them reviews were back in january time, with driver maturings gains may now be alittle higher.

Round about that I reckon, yeah. Not far out in any case. They are still are the second most powerful card available (leaving out MARS of course).

Maybe m8, not totally sure tbh. Perhaps a few others will put their views forward.

You may find that 250 is a tad high but I hope you get what you want for it!:)

Not sure i want to sell it right now money is tight in this day and age its still a cracking card and DX 11 is not essential yet.

Like I said, there isn't much out there at all that can beat it, single card solutions that is. By the time Dx11 games are in plentiful number then we'll be on the 6870X2:D

Could i pair the XFX one with an asus? i looked at that review. Its old now so i guess drivers will have improved it a lot more. Would i be able to have my 4870 x2 and 4870 in an antec 902 would there be room for the both?
