4870X2 + 4870 Single ?

I was looking into that very question a while back, since as you found, an X2 isn't really enough for Crysis. Unfortunately adding a third 4870 GPU into the mix can easily drop performance.
Only option really is to get a second X2 - but unfortunately that gives 0 performance boost to Crysis.
You could go SLI. Don't do that - unless you have Skulltrail or a Nehalem board with Intel chipset.

though i guess i can wait and get a extra X2 when the time comes.
now onto my other question, would my powersupply be enough for a extra X2 lol
1000w Galaxy is fine for two 4870 X2s.
We easily run two of the 1000w Corsair HX units.
