hey guys, mega excited, came across a bargain on ebay and went for it so im waiting for it to arrive- something like this-

Phenom 2 965
watercooled
4GB OCZ RAM ddr3 i think
hd4870x2
2x640GB RAIDed HDD
nice antec case

anyway because i am stupid and want the floaty materials in mirrors edge etc what can i do to make PhysX work? I know ATI doesnt do physx but i have loads of physx games and I want to enable it.

Do i pick up something like 8800gts and plug that in and tell it to use as PhysX?
I also have a 8600GS (OEM version) low performance but physx enabled GPU is it worth whacking that in?

I know very little about custom-ing or programming stuff to work like that anyway, i wont go into price but i got the rig for a ridiculously low price i was amazed.

Cheers!

8600gs is a pretty low end gpu. There's no harm in trying of course but don't expect anything amazing.

8800gt/9800gt/gt240 is what I'd advise to aim for. If that's too high, don't bother. As for getting it to work, you need to head over to ngohq and pick up the mod that allows you to use cuda on non nv setups and ofc, the latest drivers.

thanks for that,
i wont bother putting the 8600 in haha.
i have a 9800gtx+1GB OC which would make PhysX work flawlessly haha but its worth £70 and i need to sell it to fund my new rig :P
never mind i'll wait around a bit, it will look great anyway i probably wont miss Physx i've only had it for 2 weeks anyway!
haha and whats more im only playing at 1280x1024 cos im not buying a new monitor yet :P
