4870x2 in crossfireX

hi all .. i wanna know if my bottlenecking my cpu at 4.0ghz intel c2d e8500 with 4870x2 in crossfireX ? .. i play games at 1920x1200res 24 monitor . thx you

What games do you play? Surely the one 4870X2 is doing fine at that res. What PSU do you have? 2 would require a lot of power.

At 1920x1200 the GPU will probably still be the bottleneck. A second 4870X2 should be fine with that CPU.

You really don't need two of them. I've just upgraded from a 3870X2 & 3870XT to a 4870X2. I play at 1920x1200 with everything maxed out and its smooth as mate.

Seriously, don't waste your money. I can only seeing it being of any benefit if you got a 30" and played at a higher res.

Not really, because CrossFire X scaling is rubbish anyway.

I think it should be fine but its a huge and stupid waste of money.

Just make sure that you crank up the AA to get the most of both cards.

Well you won't see much of a benefit in GTAIV with SLI or Crossfire, as from what I heard the game doesn't support them. Crysis does obviously support them, but eats them all for breakfast.
A 4.4GHz i7, 6GB DDR3 2000MHz, SSDs in Raid 0, and 3 x GTX 285 in Tri-SLI still won't be able to 'Max' the game out at 2560x1600 and 8xAA.
Okay, well going by Trubritar/Maxishine's videos, you might be able to do it, but it certainly won't be 60fps solid.
