Hi, long time since I've been on the forums!

In the last couple of weeks my 4870x2 appears to have died - when I open a game at stock clocks (750/900) the screen goes black, the fan on the card goes to 100% and after around 10 seconds the PC crashes & reboots.

I've tried manually lowering the clocks to 500/500 (core/memory) on both cores and this makes games playable for a while but eventually the card decides it's had enough and dies.
I've also tried flashing the BIOS using the "ASUS TOP" BIOS that was the popular mod back in the day, but that didn't help much.

Today I tried manually upping the core voltage using VoltageFactory but that also didn't help - I tried it upto 1.325V (from 1.26V stock) but the card still immediately crashes when launching any 3D app at 750MHz core.

I can't think of anything else to try; currently I don't have a 2nd machine to test the card in but I'm fairly certain that it's the card dying as GPU-Z sensor logs go crazy during a crash, GPU0 sample below...
Core Clock: 200
Memory Clock: 3196.9
Temp: -1
Fan (%): 100
Fan (RPM): 0
GPU Load: 100
Temp(DISPIO): 32767.5
Temp(MEMIO): 32767.5
Temp(SHADERCORE): 32767.5
...

Anyone got any ideas or shall I start saving for a replacement?

It varies depending on what I've got the fan manually set at - in the seconds leading up to the last crash MSI Afterburner and GPU-Z both reported the core temps at around 60/50 (Master/Slave) with none of the VRM sensors reading above 90 iirc. That was with the fan set to 50% playing Racedriver: GRID

Right, an update:

I've emailed Force3D about the issue but they haven't responded & tbh I don't have proof of purchase anyway so they might not be very helpful - has anyone got any experience with them?

I managed to RMA a Powercolor 4870 a while ago without proof of purchase but I had to go through a 3rd party who dealt with the RMA as part of a large lot of RMA'd cards all being sent at once.
