4870x2 problem- black screen when launching games

title, some times, when i go to lunch games, it just gives me a black screen (i can hear the sound in the background). I can't ctrl+alt+delete out because the screen just stays black while the game is running (luckily i can alt+f4 out). I blame this on my 4870x2. I can stop the black screen issue by restarting my pc, though it keeps coming back (i get it about twice a week).

Any ideas on how to fix this? Im updating the CCC in 2 mins time, but if that fails, what should i do?

is it just one particular game? you should update to 8.11 drivers, otherwise may want to RMA your card, i never had a black screen and have this card since launch and played most new games on it since this end of summer

only game i had problems was far cry 2, would crash to desktop after 1 hr of play, but many seem to have that, so just waiting for patch or driver update

its every game, and have just updated to 8.11

will bump thread if i come across the blank screen again, have been putting up with this bug for ages, and it previously wouldn't let me update my drivers.
