Can anyone please confirm that if you have Catalyst AI disabled on a 4870x2 card only one core of the card is working.
I have had problems over the past few days every game is crashing when attempting to run it,however if i disable Cat AI the game usually runs but with a massive drop in my fps.My card is less than a month old and has been fine upto now,i,ve re-installed windows and changed boards ram and everything

Yes I believ cat ai enables or disables dual gpu.

But what games are crashing? When this happend did it coincide with a change of drivers, new software/hardware etc...

What are temps?

Games are Grid,Farcry 2,Pro evo 9,to be honest with you i've tried with loads of games and all crash,on Grid i click to play game and the sound is in a loop and graphics are crawling.
No hardware changes only tried another driver when this happened thats what has convinced me that the card is faulty
Temps are fine in early 50's through ccc,when card was working properly had no temp problems either
 
I noticed more of a drop in FPS in most of my games...NFS Undercover was the main culprit with its FPS going from 40s to as low as 18FPS...the second I enabled the AI it went back up...but yeah I noticed some crashes here and there too...
 
Cheers mate i have suffered big drops in Grid,thats why i think one of the cores must be knackered.
