4870x2 problems

Just got a second-hand 4870x2 from online

put it in my machine and im running a Hd monitor at 1920x1080
and the temp on both gpu is 90-96 oc
I pulled the card out and cleaned it with can of air and put it back in
and it still running high.

Loaded BF3 up put it on 1920x1080 and medium settings no AA
getting horrible jerking in game
both gpu were going but only 55% each, people have been playing BF3 with this card on high settings with no problem.

What can I do to sort this problem out can any one think whats the matter with this card.

Remaining high temps will mainly be due to three things :

1. There's still a build up of dust inside; I found that using air wasn't enough for a thorough clean, and used to open it up completely and remove all the dust that way.

2. Reapplying thermal paste for better contact if the above fails.

3. It's seen better days.

Re : BF3 - I haven't played it myself, though I would have a thought a properly functioning 4870X2 should deliver reasonable performance minus AA when running high settings (not ultra).
