Right ok i'm new here so hey guys :) heres my problem:

i just recieved my brand new 4870x2 as an upgrade from my 3870x2 and yesterday i installed it wiped all the driver's etc etc well it worked perfect for the whole day played abit of crysis, wolfenstein, eve you name it then i woke up this morning to find out that my pc wouldn't boot it would go to a blackscreen with a blinking cursor and if i did manage to get it to go to windows it would bluescreen and error like crazy and restart any idea's because ive been trying to get this to work now for...about 9 hours lol installing my 3870x2 makes everything go back to normal.

also this only happens when i install the cards drivers if i delete them i can use the card fine...but cant do anything with it obviously
system specs

Dell XPS 420

850Watt TX Corsair
22 inch monitor
a07 bios for dell xps
4 gig ram
Windows 7 RC 64bit

What power supply you running fella?

edit - ahh didn't see that listed there. Sounds like it could be power related to me though, could the power supply be giving up the ghost?

can you test the card in another machine?

i'm afraid i can't test it in another machine but im fairly sure 850 watt would be fine for my set up and im not sure why it worked for a whole day then just conked out like this i was mega excited now im not a happy bunny rofl

ok so it was working yesterday right?

what happened between yesterday and today?

any and i mean ANY form of software change? new game installed for example?

nothing really i had just finished playing eve online was feeling kinda tired about 1ish so i just shut down my computer and started dreaming about my 4870x2 rofl and then woke up and nearly had a break down...altho come to think of it there was 2 things i have forgot to mention... it did achelly boot this morning but my pc froze like... totally so i had to reboot thats when it happend and the other i went to install a dungeon runner demo that came with the ati disk and it froze out

i have to go out for abit now but ive had a brainstorm and im going to try a system restore and if that doesnt work try going back to vista i will keep you all update and i will check back later so if you have any idea's let me know thanks guys. :)

hmm :( system restore didn't work it started off good thought it started to detect the card and install the basic drivers for it which it hasnt done since i first put it in but still no luck didn't work guess the only option now is to try vista :( bah is it even worth it rofl
