4870x2 Query.

Hi guys,

Never used ATi in my life and have the above on order.

Am I right in thinking I don't need a crossfire supporting mobo if I plan on using just the 1 card?
Using an old Asus P5B delux at the moment and don't really want to spend any more money unless I have to, don't want to find out it's only using 1 core instead of 2 for some bizzare reason but I think I am ok!

Just like SLI I assume?

The crossfire on the X2 card is internal so just the one slot required. Make sure that when you install the drivers and the Catalyst Control Centre (CCC) that the Catalyst AI is set to ON as otherwise the card will only run one core. Afaik the default setting is ON but better to be safe than sorry!

Hmmm very disappointed, it needs an 8pin adapter which it doesnt say on the info page nor does it come with one in the box, it comes with a 6pin adapter, but not an 8

Shoddy.
