4870x2 questions

please answer these if you know them!

1. Battlefield 2 - my main game.... does it support crossfire nativly and hence this card ? gaming at custom res of 1680x1050.

2. Is crysis playable on one with either a q6600 or higher or an e8500 or higher, 4gb ram etc ?

3. I have a yellow and black corsair modular 520w psu, is it enough for this card, do i need some kind of adaptors ?

4. will it fit in an antec 900 ?

1: bf2 could be run wiht a 7800GTX on highest with good AA so dont worry easy peasy.

2: crysis easy playable i run 1680x1050 with dx10 hacks on dx9 and i get a good solid 50-60 fps with my E6600 which is pleanty, some places up to 90-100 but mainly a good 60.

3: i tryed hyper 580w and it would run the card but only in 2d clocks not in 3d mode so im not sure depends on how much stuff you have in your pc really and if your overclocking etc.

4: yes.

If your main game is Battlefield 2 and you only game at a mere 1680x1050 the 4870X2 is overkill, no?

I want to get iRacing and S.T.A.L.K.E.R clear skies, and Arma and OpFlash 2 aswell, its just BF2 is where my skills are best so i play it the most.

Ill put it this way, I had TDU on an e6300 @ 2.8ghz, 2gb of geil ram, and an 8800GTX, and it struggled on ultra high settings, but looked fantastico. I dont want my next system to struggle!!!

Is your screen 1680x1050? Because a 4870X2 is overkill for that res.

im swaying more towards a gtx 280 now, ive heard on here that 1680x1050 is slow on an x2 ???

Yes its a 22" one but i would like to upgrade to a 24" or maybe higher next june ish.

4870x2 is most definately NOT slow @1680! it's very fast, but a 4870 will play everything maxed out at that res, but if you are getting a 24" then consider the x2

Who told you 1680 res was slow ?

At 1920 res on TF2 on the bridge on 2fort with max spam and 16x AA i never drop belows 100 fps.
