Hey, I recently got this card and was just wondering if anyone with it (or other suitable ATI cards) can tell me the best driver to installed, based on performance. Also, since this is the first decent card I've had, how should I test it to ensure it is running to it's full potential? And what temps should I be looking for?

Cheers.

People vary on their opinions of what driver suits them best at the time. My advice would be to try the latest 9.12 and see how you go.

Try some demanding games and set everything to high and see how it peforms, it should do well. Give Clear Sky a whirl if you can, I found my 4870X2 ate that for breakfast and provided a very good gaming experience.

The cards are designed to handle very high temps and again, peoples' results will vary greatly. Obviously the lower the better, mine idled around 50C with the fan set to around 30 - 35%, it didn't very often reach more than the low 70's in game with the fan set from 40 - 60%

Hope this helps. :)
