Just wondering if this fan is the same as the artic cooling 4870x2 cooler.

does the VRMS and IOs ect get cooled properly
and there is memory under the black backing plate, does that get cooled better or exactly the same

im hopeing when it arrives i can get 800/1000

im sure the core will easlily reach that but the memory im not to sure about becuse of the refrence black backing plate coolers job.

I did have much luck o/c mine but i had a faulty card which i didnt send back, i think the asus top bios can help you achieve them o/c you mentioned.

I have mine running at 799 999 (damn sliders wont give me rounded numbers), I had problems with lockups with the the fans on 45% max which it did not like at all it seemed. I have since put the fans back to auto which results in things becoming "quite loud" in demanding games but otherwise everything is fine (not tried new bios or suchlike)

The memory is aparently stock rated for 4 ghz (4 x 1000) so I'd be suprised if it did not clock further on the memory too.
