Google some benchmarks? The 4870 is a clear winner. And the 9800GX2 doesn't have 1GB of memory, making the discussion moot anyhow.

I just upgraded from a 9800GX2 to a 4870X2, and while the 9800 is a great card, the 4870 beats it.
