I'm getting just 0ver 14000 with a XFX 4890 at stock at 1200x800 res

OC to 962MHz/1042MHz with Rivatuner and i'm getting just under 15000 but I might be able to squeeze a bit more out of it.

I'm running in conjunction with E6600 OC to 3.2GHz stable

XP 32 OS
I don't see many people running it with an E6600 so i guess i'm a bit bottlenecked. I'd OC the CPU more but my ASUS P5W DH deluxe won't let me get past 3.2.

My 4850 was giving me around 12000 stock and 13000 OC so it's about a 2000 gain

Does this score sound about right for my set up?

Yep,

Some of my scores, note the hardware

Dual Core + 8800GT
E5200 - 3.7Ghz
4GB DDR2, Dual Channel
500GB HDD, 200GB HDD
8800GT: 600/900
Highest 3Dmark: 12060

Quad Core + 8800GT
Q6600 - 3.3Ghz
4GB DDR2, Dual Channel
500GB HDD, 120Mb/s
8800GT: 720/1000
Highest 3Dmark: 14261

Quad Core + 4890
Q6600 - 3.6Ghz
4890 1GB
4GB DDR2, Dual Channel
500GB HDD, 120Mb/s
Highest 3Dmark: 16620

I could break 14000 with my 8800GT (similar to 4850) with the *Q6600*. When I introduced the 4890; 14000~15000 scores without over clocking much, 16000 after overclocking.

Heres what the scores look like with an 8800GT during the overclocking process on a Q6600
3Dmark 06 @ 2.4Ghz: 11649
3Dmark 06 @ 3Ghz: 13685
3Dmark 06 @ 3.15Ghz: 14098
3Dmark 06 @ 3.24 14241
3Dmark 06 @ 3.329 14261

3dmark06 seems to be more about cpu speed that gfx, i get a slight increase by OC'ing my gfx but a massive increase by upping cpu clock

Yeah, 3DMark06 is CPU dependent a lot ^
Best just to note down your benchmarks for future reference, but don't care about them too much, just enjoy playing games - unless you enjoy the game of improving your stats.

Well I must admit I enjoy both but it's a vast improvement gaming. Crysis is so much smoother at highest DX9 settings and with some AA enabled. It was almost unplayable with my old 4850.

It idles at 48 and is mid 60's at peak after some fan adjustments. Yay!

CPU score has stayed around 2500 but GPU has increased dramatically. :D

Not bad for £99

This.

Ignore 3dmark06 it is pretty much useless these days. CI got more 36mark06 points by clocking my e6600 from 2.4ghz to 3ghz than by changing my geforce 260 to an ati 4890!

google for Crysis Benchmark tool, you can use that to check your stats and see if you can get any improvements from overclocking etc.

With my E6600 and 470 I get just under 16k, even my old ultra got 14k ish. Sounds right to me. Pointless benchmark these days though, especially if you own anything less than a quad. 3dmark03 is fun, get over 75k in that sucker!
