HI all,

I got a PC from OC.co.uk with a 4890, it's all Cross fire compatable etc etc.

I bought another 4890 and installed it and have a clamp bridge on the cards.

I've reinstalled drivers, done drive rcleaner etc etc.

When ever I load 3d apps i.e games I get lots of screen flickers and about 5 fps perfromance. Even 3d menus strugle to load.

For now I'm disabled crossfire in Catalyst setup.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

ive never xfire but only sli. this is how i did it. Intall the first card and drivers. then just put in the 2nd card but dont install anything. then in the nvidia control panel i just turned on sli.

Due you get a blue screen or crash etc?

Are both 4890's running at the same clock speeds (check in catalyst control centre > ati overdrive there should be a selector for each card)

i had a similar issue where i had overclocked one card and not the other.

worth a look.

Mobo is

The mobo is -
Gigabyte GA-MA790x-UD3P AMD 790x PCI express ddr2

I just noticed in Overdrive for my Primary 4890 under CURRENT VALUES

GPU clock is 240mhz
For the secondry its- 500 mhz

THis right? bit of a diffrence for same card.. this value can not be changed though.

I've adjustd my primary card which is 900hz memory clock speed to 850 same as secondary.

Have you tested the new card by it's self to ensure it's not faulty.
Running the latest drivers from ATI.
